The National Finals Rodeo takes over in early December and the whole city goes western — boots on the casino floor, rodeo traffic on Paradise Road. New Year's Eve closes the Strip to cars and packs it shoulder to shoulder; it gets genuinely cold after dark, so the sequins come with coats.
